Employer Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! We can provide meaningful pre-hire supports to clients even if they are not your current employee.

Our clients and job coaches are covered under our liability insurance policy.

No. As a worksite partner of ALBS, you will never be pressured to make hiring decisions. However, if there is a mutual interest between our client and your company, we will do whatever we can to help facilitate an employment solution.

We are always happy to assist you with making your workplace more accessible to your staff. We will collaborate with you throughout to generate creative solutions for the accommodations process if needed.

That depends! If your new employee feels that they would benefit from follow-along supports, then we are able to do so in many cases. Otherwise we fade out in stages so that your new employee is set up for independent success.

Client Frequently Asked Questions

If you are participating in the instructional services (life skills, job development, high school Pre-ETS classes, etc.) you will not be paid. If you are receiving job coaching services at a worksite, you will be paid $8.75 per hour worked. You will be included on the ALBS payroll and will have the option of direct deposit or a paper check on a bi-weekly basis.

While your income from temporary job coaching services DO count as income and will require you to report them to the SSA, it is unlikely that you will make over the monthly limit, thus your benefits should not be impacted. If you are concerned, reach out to your WV DRS counselor for information regarding Benefits Counseling.

No. Your job coach (and ALBS) will never make decisions on your behalf. We will provide you with the information and resources to make an educated decision, but YOUR goals are central to our services. We will do our best to match the trial worksites to your interests and goals.

That depends! If you feel that you would benefit from having more coaching support following the start of your job, we can be there! The overall goal is that we support you to achieve your highest level of independence. Once you feel you are successfully established in your role, we will fade out, or we will connect you with resources for ongoing support.
