CSED Waiver Services
Support for Complex Needs
The Children with Serious Emotional Disorders (CSED) Waiver provides Medicaid-funded behavioral and emotional support for eligible children and adolescents in West Virginia. Augusta Levy offers individualized services through this program to help families build stability at home, strengthen emotional regulation, and support success in community and school settings. Every plan is customized to the child’s needs and delivered by trained behavioral health professionals.
Medicaid-Funded Behavioral Support
The CSED Waiver is designed to help children and adolescents manage serious emotional or behavioral challenges. Through this program, families gain access to behavioral specialists, therapy supports, crisis planning, and community-based skill-building. Augusta Levy provides CSED services that focus on helping children improve emotional regulation, develop coping strategies, and navigate daily life more successfully.
Individualized Support at Home and in the Community
Home-Based Behavioral Support
Therapists and behavior specialists work with children and families in the home to address emotional regulation, coping skills, and behavior strategies.
Community-Based Instruction
Children practice functional skills in places like parks, stores, libraries, and neighborhood environments to build independence and confidence.
Family Skill-Building
Parents and caregivers receive coaching, guidance, and strategies to reinforce progress and manage challenging behaviors consistently.
Crisis Planning & Stabilization
Support teams help families create proactive plans to reduce crises and respond more effectively when challenges arise.
Individualized Goals & Treatment Plans
All services are tailored to the child’s needs, strengths, and family priorities, with regular reviews to measure progress and update goals.
Eligibility and Approval
The CSED Waiver is available to children and adolescents who meet West Virginia’s criteria for emotional or behavioral support needs. Eligibility is determined through a state assessment process, and families must be approved by the West Virginia Bureau for Medical Services.
Once approved, families may select Augusta Levy as their service provider. Our team guides you through onboarding and helps you begin services as quickly as possible.
