These programs focus on functional behavior, communication, safety, emotional regulation, and independence. Services are individualized based on assessments and are designed to strengthen daily routines, build confidence, and support long-term success beyond the clinic setting.
Home and Community Support for Emotional and Behavioral Needs
The Children with Serious Emotional Disorders (CSED) Waiver provides intensive behavioral and emotional support for eligible children and adolescents. Augusta Levy offers CSED services that help families navigate complex behavioral needs, build stability at home, and promote positive participation in school and community settings.
What the CSED Waiver Provides
Home-Based Behavioral Support
Therapists and behavior specialists work with children and families in the home to address emotional regulation, coping skills, and behavior strategies.
Community-Based Instruction
Children practice functional skills in places like parks, stores, libraries, and neighborhood environments to build independence and confidence.
Family Skill-Building
Parents and caregivers receive coaching, guidance, and strategies to reinforce progress and manage challenging behaviors consistently.
Crisis Planning & Stabilization
Support teams help families create proactive plans to reduce crises and respond more effectively when challenges arise.
Individualized Goals & Treatment Plans
All services are tailored to the child’s needs, strengths, and family priorities, with regular reviews to measure progress and update goals.
Eligibility and Approval
Children and adolescents qualify for the CSED Waiver through West Virginia’s approval process. Eligibility is based on clinical assessments, behavioral needs, and age requirements. Once approved, families may select Augusta Levy as their preferred provider. Our team then guides families through onboarding and service planning.
