Connecting Community & Cause

Our Events

Augusta Levy hosts several community events throughout the year to celebrate inclusion, raise awareness, and support the children and families we serve. From signature fundraisers to seasonal programs and awareness campaigns, each event helps strengthen our mission through connection, generosity, and shared experiences.

A month of education, celebration, and community involvement.

Autism Awareness & Acceptance Month

Each April, Augusta Levy joins national efforts to promote Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month through a series of educational activities, community events, and fundraising initiatives. These efforts highlight the strengths, needs, and diverse experiences of individuals with autism while encouraging understanding, inclusion, and support across the Ohio Valley. It is a month dedicated to learning, connection, and celebrating every individual’s potential.

Dancing with the Ohio Valley Stars

“Dancing with the Ohio Valley Stars” is Augusta Levy’s signature annual fundraiser, bringing together local personalities who spend eight weeks training with professional dancers before taking the stage at Wheeling’s Capitol Theatre. Firefighters, detectives, news anchors, and other community figures perform choreographed routines in a lively, joy-filled competition that raises essential funds for Augusta Levy’s programs. The event has become a beloved celebration of talent, teamwork, and generosity across the Ohio Valley.

Inclusion on Ice

“Inclusion on Ice” transforms the Wheeling Park Ice Rink into a fully accessible event where individuals of all abilities can enjoy time on the ice. In partnership with Easterseals and the Wheeling Nailers, Augusta Levy helps create an inclusive experience using sleds, walkers, wheelchairs, and adaptive supports so everyone—regardless of physical or developmental needs—can participate. It is a joyful, barrier-free celebration of winter fun, community, and connection.

Spectrum of Color 5K Fun Run

The Spectrum of Color 5K Fun Run is an annual inclusive fun run organized by Augusta Levy, benefitting the Shawn Ramsay Autism Scholarship. The event is designed to be inclusive and non-competitive, encouraging participants to challenge themselves rather than compete against others. The registration fees and proceeds from the race directly support the one-on-one student programming at Augusta Levy Behavioral Services, ensuring that all funds raised go towards enhancing educational and therapeutic services.

Honoring a legacy of compassion through every award.

Shawn Ramsay Autism Scholarship

The Shawn Ramsay Autism Scholarship honors the life and advocacy of Shawn Ramsay by providing financial support to families seeking services at Augusta Levy. Created in memory of her dedication as a BCBA, mother, and champion for the autism community, the scholarship helps remove financial barriers so children with autism can access the individualized programming they need to thrive. Each award carries forward Shawn’s mission of empowerment, inclusion, and opportunity.
